Who we are
We are called to walk the way of Christ together in such a way that our lives emulate what we see in Acts 2:42-47.
We are committed to glorifying God through the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our lives and to support each other as we strive for unity, transformation, and love.
What we believe
BIBLE: The Bible is the Word of God. We hold to the Bible as our standard as disciples (Christians), as it helps us grow in maturity in Christ (Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Colossians 1:28).
MAN: Mankind is made in the image of God. Man was created to have fellowship with God, but our sins have separated us from him. Only through Christ are we given the opportunity to be reconciled to Him and the chance to live life to the full (Genesis 1, Romans 3:23-24, John 10:10, Ecclesiastes 12:13).
GOD: There is one God, who is the Father, one Son, and one Holy Spirit. As the Creator of all things, God is all-knowing, perfect, and holy. We are made for
His glory. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises (Isaiah 43:1-7, John 1:1-18).
JESUS: Jesus is the image of the invisible God, sent from heaven to redeem mankind. He lived a sinless life. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life. Jesus is the ultimate example to be human and obey God (Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15).
HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the Advocate promised by Jesus, who convicts people of their sin and transforms them to become more like Christ. We cannot live the life God intends for us without the Holy Spirit’s strength and guidance. All disciples receive the Holy Spirit (John 16:8, 13; John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 2:10b; Acts 2:38).
SALVATION: We are saved by grace through faith. The Gospel (good news) is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone. God’s plan is for man to respond through faith-- repentance, and baptism (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 1:16, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:4-6).
CHURCH: The Church is a community of believers who are devoted to each other and are unified through their faith in Christ. As a church, we are committed to following the scriptures. We seek to bring the Gospel and reconciliation to the world. Our purpose is to engage in the mission of God (Ephesians 2:19-22, 2 Samuel 22:31, Psalm 119, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21).
Where we come from
In 1991, a group of faithful disciples left Denver to plant a church in Lincoln, Nebraska. As the church grew from a small group to a large group of God loving families, it moved to Omaha in 1996. Since then we have found a building that we call our church home.
Where we're headed
Jesus says we have two callings in our lives; to love our neighbors as ourselves and to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 22:36-40). In the old testament, this is consistent with Abraham's call to be a blessing to all nations. Simply put, this is what where we're headed in the greater Omaha community. We strive to help those in the Omaha community share in what God has blessed us with (1 Peter 2:9-10).
